- IAD 2013
Happy 20th Anniversary International Astrology Day - AFAN is proud to announce International Astrology Day, MARCH 20, 2013 (11:03 GMT)
The Association for Astrological Networking is excited to announce the 20th Anniversary of International Astrology Day on March 20th, 2013. It was in 1993 that AFAN founded International Astrology Day as an outgrowth of it’s previous Astrology Awareness Weekend, the precursor celebration in the evolution of IAD. This holiday, celebrated each year by both astrologers and enthusiasts alike, is held on the Vernal Equinox each spring, which is the first full day in the Tropical Zodiac’s sign of Aries. It was the vision of AFAN that this new holiday would held expand networking opportunities for astrologers worldwide, along with the promotion of positive aspects of astrology to the media.
Over the years International Astrology Day has blossomed into a powerful and joyous event. Currently, celebrations are held across the globe in countless mediums. From Pennsylvania to California celebrations across the United States are held. Internationally, astrologers meet at gatherings in England, Canada, China, and the Netherlands to name a few. Celebrants can be found at weekend events in honor of the holiday along with day events in shops, centers, and public spaces. The advent of technology has also allowed astrologers to meet in cyber space at digital conferences, which place individuals from every corner of our planet in one IAD space. Even still, less formal celebrations and gatherings are held in personal homes with close friends with astrologically themed activities. It is all these forms that make this holiday so special to our community. It provides an opportunity to celebrate what astrology means to each of us, along with valuable opportunities to get together within our community, and to reach out to the public. So grand or intimate, let us know how you plan to celebrate this year by emailing us at [email protected] or by visiting the interactive IAD Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/astrologyday/ to get the latest celebrations and share your own and invite other astrologers to join you.
